A delegation of the Adivasi Community led by Uruwarige Wanniyelaeththo visited the
Jathika Namal Uyana and held discussions with its founder Ven Wanawasi Rahula Thera on the role they should play in the national environmental programme titled Daye Daruwanta Parisara Hitakamee Ratak launched on a concept of Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa. The External Affairs Ministry has donated a stock of books valued at nearly Rs. 20 million for the use of libraries in Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim schools in the Anuradhapura District, the Anuradhapura Public Library and the Rajarata University Library. External Affairs Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris handed over these books to the heads of relevant schools and institutions at the just concluded “Deyata Kirula” exhibition premises. A Sri Lankan cadet delegation will attend the Nepalese National Cadet Corps Camp and
Army Day celebrations to be held in Kathmandu. The delegation will leave for Kathmandu
today. Under the patronage of National Cadet Corps director Major General Gamini Jayasundara, Staff Officer 1 (logistics) Lieutenant Colonel W M L K Wasala will head the
delegation which includes Petty Officer M B S B Mohotalla, Sergeant K Gauthaman, CJUO H  D Hapugastenna and Sergeant P W T S Sigera. A cadet representing Jaffna is also included in the team. The delegation will stay in Nepal for nine days. The delegation is expected to participate in leadership courses, adventure courses and cultural events.The delegation is also scheduled to meet top officials.
