Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Deputy Minister Susantha Punchi Nilame opening a renovated road.

The government has taken measures to develop the North and East of the country. A number of development projects have been implemented in these provinces, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Deputy Minister Susantha Punchi Nilame said.

Priority has been given for infrastructure development in rural areas. The government will develop all roads in the North and East, he said.

The minister was addressing the opening ceremony of the renovated rural road system from the Trincomalee town to the Kadawath Divisional Secretariat at the Kadawath Sathara Divisional Secretariat recently. The government spent Rs 5 million for the renovation.
