If India doesn't want our aid, stop it now, Cameron told

British Prime Minister David Cameron was under intense pressure to slash the pound 1 billion in aid Britain gives to India after the country said it no longer wanted the money. India's Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the booming country should 'voluntarily' give up the £ 280million a year it receives from Britain.

Egypt to put NGO workers, including Americans, on trial

Egypt is to try 44 people over the alleged illegal funding of aid groups, a judicial source said on Sunday, a day after Washington said it would review aid to Cairo over the crackdown. “Forty-four people, including Egyptians, 19 Americans and other nationalities, have been referred to the Cairo criminal court in the NGO funding case,” the source told AFP. A travel ban on all remains in place.

Obama says no Israel decision on Iran attack

US President Barack Obama said Sunday he did not think Israel had made a decision on whether to launch a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear installations, a threat that has rattled the region. Obama - seeking to reassure Americans over the danger posed by Tehran's suspect nuclear program, and any negative side-effects for the United States - said Washington was working “in lockstep” with Israel to bring Iran to heel.

'Security Council has become a tool for West's bullying':

Iran on Sunday welcomed the Russian and Chinese veto on a UN Security Council resolution condemning its ally Syria for its crackdown on dissent, the official IRNA news agency reported. “By vetoing the proposed sanctions China and Russia have been just,” Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said. “The Security Council has become a tool for the West's bullying ... of other nations, and this time Russia and China stood up against it,” the Islamic republic's top diplomat said.
