Moratu Vidyalaya were 27 for no loss in reply to S. Thomas' College, Matara total of 281 at the end of day one in their inter school under 19 cricket match worked off at Uyanwatte Esplanade, Matara.

Thomians score was propped up by two good knocks of 55 runs by Ishan Kanishka and 54 runs by Hashan Vinura. Jayanga Nirmana contributed 49 runs. Off spinner Zafran Preena was the most successful bowler for Vidyalians with 5 for 45.
