Every country has a unique way of celebrating their National Day in
grand style. It's a day when the whole country comes together singing,
laughing, dancing, dress up, bring out the bottles and make a feast to
last for a long time.
On January 26 a little bit of Australia was brought down to the Galle
Face Hotel poolside to celebrate their National Day with some of the
regular guests of the hotel.
With the General Manager Jason Cooley being an Australian knowing how
and what is needed to get the celebrations going was not hard.
The poolside bar was decorated with cactus plants, Koala bears,
Australian flag fluttering away and an amazing selection of meat and
fish on the grill to choose from. Australians love to be outdoors on any
good day, call the friends and family, bring out the grill, put some
good music on and enjoy the time with some good food and drinks.

Some of the lip smacking treats that were served were herb and
mustard marinated lamb chops, tender seasoned chicken legs and breast,
fine seafood brochettes, juicy chicken bockwurst sausages, moist herbed
sirloin steaks, delicious chicken and capsicum kebabs.
Accompanying them was fresh tossed salads, hot creamy baked potatoes,
rich in flavour grilled vegetables, crispy bacon bits and tangy sour
cream plus fresh breads.
Everyone who was there really did enjoy themselves listening to the
calm sounds of the waves crashing on the wall and music playing in the
background.
