Somanahalli Masllaiah Krishna born May 1, 1932, generally referred to
as S M Krishna, is widely known as the Minister of External Affairs to
the Indian government. Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam born
October 15, 1931, usually referred to as A P J Abdul Kalam is
universally celebrated for his contributions in the aerospace
engineering field, his services as chancellor to the Indian Institute of
Space Science and Technology and more importantly for serving as the
11th President to the Republic of India from 2002 to 2007. Taj Samdura
Colombo was proud to have served two of the most remarkable individuals
during their travel to Colombo. Whilst planning the accommodation
arrangements it was informed that both these leaders paid extra
attention to their dietary needs and food intake. Being vegetarians,
they both chose South Indian cuisine for their meals and preferred low
fat, less sugar or splenda in their desserts and beverages.
South Indian cuisine features coconut water and milk in most their
dishes and possess an easy to digest quality to it when comparing with
most other cuisines. Among busy schedules and top urgent topics, it was
noted that health and life was not forgotten by these great leaders. |
