Miracles do happen

On December 30, you must have read the story about Missy who was run over by a heartless person and left to die on the corner of the road. Some kind hearted people came to her rescue and she was immediately rushed to Vet by Nadeeka Dharmaratne.

After being shown from one doctor to another it was concluded that she could never walk again because the vehicle that ran over her, crushed her from her uterus downwards, fracturing her right leg and leaving a wound in the tail and which later had to be amputated. Everyone at Adopt a Dog in Sri Lanka and people who had helped towards the speedy recovery of Missy were upset about the fact that she could never walk again.

Nadeeka who visited her regularly, was so thrilled one day when Missy had dragged herself to greet her and eat the Mari biscuits she had brought. She cried whenever Nadeeka left.

Plans were been made to get Missy a wheelchair so that she could move about easily. But just a few days ago...something really truly amazing happened. She started to walk...and actually use her three legs to walk after all hope was going down. Truly it is a miracle and she proved that miracles do exist if you have faith and hope that you can make something better.

Missy is a very friendly dog and she is like 3 to 4 years old. She showed us that she is a fighter and that she never gave up in trying to get back on her feet again. She taught us that if we really want to do something and focus on getting it...eventually we can achieve it.
