Trinity notch up eighth win

Trinity College cruised to their eighth outright win for the season
when they trounced Kalutara Vidyalaya by an innings and 111 runs in
their schools under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at the
Kalutara Esplanade yesterday.
Trinity off spinner and deputy skipper Janishka Pramasinghe turned in
a match winning performance by capturing 7 for 37 in the first innings
and 5 for 65 in the second innings to return a match haul of 12 for 102.
Kalutara Vidyalaya who had to make 270 in the second innings to avoid
an innings defeat started off well with the openers putting on 50.
A minor collapse saw the total stride down to 63 for 3. They made a
partial recovery and at one stage the score board read 132 for 5. But
another collapse resulted in them in losing their next four wickets for
the addition of eight runs before they were all out for 159.
Kalutara Vidyalaya: 88 all out in 23.3 overs (Nuwan Sajeewa 28,
Subhasha Upeshana 14, Janishka Premasinghe 7 for 37, Alwis Fernando 2
for 9) And 157 all out in 45.1 overs (Dinuk Rasindu 42, Dharshana
Buddhika 34, Nuwan Sanjeewa 27 n.o, Janishka Premasinghe 5 for 65, Akila
Jayasundera 3 for 22).
Trinity College: 358 for 8 declared in 54 overs (Niroshan Dickwella
88, Janishka Premasinghe 17, Dinuk Wickremanayake 18, Ron Chandragupta
38, Heshan Wanniarachchi 67, Akila Jayasundera 57, Lakshitha Dassanayake
