Ten children admitted to hospital
Ten six-year-old students were admitted to the Galewela divisional
hospital due to vomiting and fainting. They had eaten castor nuts during
a tuition class in Galewala. They had picked these nuts which have been
scattered on the ground in the premises. They were later transferred to
Dambulla base hospital. Investigations are continuing.
New PS building
Weeraketiya group corr
The construction work of the new building in the Weeraketiya
Pradeshiya Sabha is nearing completion.
Rs. 63 million has been spent for this building, PS Chairman Piyasena
Liyanarachchi said.
Media workshop
A media workshop titled Role of provincial correspondents in the
context of accelerated development, organized on the initiative of Youth
Affairs and Skills Development Deputy Minister Duminda Dissanayake to
coincide with the Deyata Kirula 2012 exhibition will be held at the
Happy Leoni hotel at the Jaffna junction on Mihintale Road, Anuradhapura
on February 2 at 8.30 am.
Assault on devotees: four arrested

Four suspects have been arrested by the Mundalama Police in
connection with an alleged assault on a group of devotees at the
Pulichchikulama Hindu Kovil and causing damage to the kovil on Sunday
night. One person injured in the assault is warded at Chilaw Hospital.
Yoga workshop
Sethsada Yoga Nikethanaya will hold a yoga workshop free on February
