'Deyata Kirula brings development to rural areas'

The Deyata Kirula project has been of great success in bringing
development to the country's rural areas, despite the unfounded
accusations of certain elements, Traditional Industries and Small
Enterprise Development Deputy Minister Weerakumara Dissanayake said.
The government has allocated Rs 21,675million under the Deyata Kirula
National Development Project,for developments work, he said.
"The government has drawn up plans to develop the Anuradhapura
Districts in many aspects under the Deyata Kirula National Development
project. The road network has been developed and plans are afoot to
reconstruct all water reservoirs, drinking water projects, sanitation
projects etc. Meanwhile, school computer units will be developed under
Nenasala project", he said.
Under the Deyata Kirula National Development project, the Traditional
Industries and Small Enterprise Development Ministry has identified many
rural industries in the Anuradhapura District which are being developed.
The ministry built a training centre to train 100 individuals at a time,
he said.
