Richmond take first innings lead

Richmond College, Galle has already gained a first innings lead over Prince of Wales College in their inter-School under 19 cricket match played for major A.P.M. Peiris Trophy at Moratuwa. Currently Cambrians are the holders of this trophy.

Batting first Richnondites were all out for 159 runs with Pabasara Waduge scoring 54 runs with eleven fours. Thilan Nimesh was the most successful blower for Cambrians with 4 for 30.

In reply homesters made 130 runs with some resistance coming off the bat of Ashen Mendis who scored 36 runs while A.K. Tyronne had a good spell of bowling with 5 for 55 and the end of day one visitors were 47 for 1.

Richmond - 159 (Pabasara Waduge 54, A.K. Tyronne 39, Gayan Chamara 2/39, Jayanga Peiris 3/26, Thilan Nimesh 4/30 and 1/47 Pahasara Waduge 31 n/o).

Prince of Wales - 130 (Kusal Mendis 23, Ashen Mendis 36, Banuka Madurapriya 2/15, A.K. Tyonne 5/55).
