Amunugama for SAARC Finance Ministers meeting

Senior Minister of International Monetary Co-operation Dr. Sarath Amunugama will represent President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the fifth coming SAARC Finance Ministers conference to be held in Dhaka on February 1 and 2, a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance and Planning said yesterday.

The Sri Lankan delegation will include representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank. Among the items to be discussed at the meeting are continuing slowdown of the developing economies in the United States and Eurozone.

The security situation in the middle east which affects the trade flows from SAARC countries and migrant workers from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will also be discussed.
