President opens new public market, bus stand in Buttala
President Mahinda Rajapaksa opened the newly built public market
complex and the bus stand at Buttala town and vested them with the
people yesterday morning.

The project costing Rs 78 million was funded by the Local Government
and Provincial Councils Ministry and built under the supervision of the
Uva Provincial Council. After the opening ceremony President Rajapaksa
inspected the public market complex consisting 69 trade stalls and
exchange pleasantries with the people gathered at the venue.
Uva Chief Minister Shashendra Rajapaksa presented a memento on behalf
of the public in Uva to President Rajapaksa in appreciation of the vast
development activities implemented in Uva Province under the Mahinda
Chintana, said a press release by the President's Media Division.
Local Government and Provincial Minister A L M Athaulla, Coconut
Development and Janatha Estates Development Minister Jagath Pushpakumara
and Local Government and Provincial Councils Deputy Minister Indika
Bandaranayake were also present on the occasion. |
