Airtel, Manchester United tie up to delight soccer fans

In a bid to delight and bring in a variety of benefits for soccer loving customers across Sri Lanka, Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunication provider with over 242 million subscribers across the world yesterday announced its association with the world powerful sporting brand “Manchester United Football Club.”

The partnership with Manchester United comes as a part of Airtel aggressive growth plan to expand its operations in Sri Lanka and to illustrate its continuous commitment to offer innovative products and services for Sri Lankan customers at an affordable price,” Bharti Airtel, Global Brand Director Bharat Bambawale said.

Customers will be entitled to connect with world’s most loved football team by dialing Airtel and there will be a lot of promotional campaigns in coming days to promote this new service.

As a part of this symbolic collaboration of two global brands, English Premier League Trophy will also be showcased from January 26 to 27, 2012 at Excel World, Majestic City and Kalutara Football Stadium. Fans could meet their legends and enjoy various fun events organized for them. A limited edition value pack with special value added services including Manchester United mobile content such as welcome tunes, theme songs SMS alert service will also be launched shortly. Customers purchasing these packs will have the opportunity to win a “once in a life time, money can’t buy trip” to Old Trafford and travel to Europe to watch Manchester United play the UEFA Champions League.

The partnership was announced in the presence of two Manchester United legends Bryan Robson and Dwight Yorke.
