Norwegian assistance for Sri Lanka
Ridma DISSANAYAKE
The Norwegian government will send an official team from NORAD,
Fisheries Department and the Maritime Institute to Sri Lanka in April on
a fact finding mission.
This was revealed during a meeting between Fisheries and Aquatic
Resources Development Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne and Norwegian
Ambassador Hilde Haraldstad recently.
The ambassador called on the minister at the ministry to discuss
assistance for development of fisheries harbours in the North and East.
This is subsequent to a recent visit to Norway by Minister Senaratne
where he held discussions with top officials.
