Islandwide development - Rajitha

Vast developments projects have been launched in all parts of the
country. It is not limited only to the North and East, but to the entire
country with the aim of making Sri Lanka the Wonder of Asia, Fisheries
and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne said.

A large number of development programmes have been implemented in
every part of the country. Under these programmes, a number of major
projects such as airports, harbours, power plants, bridges and
expressways have been built islandwide, he added.
The minister was addressing the opening ceremony of the newly built
bridge in Athwethota, Baduraliya recently.
Dr Senaratne said while working as the Construction and Engineering
Services Minister, he had initiated this bridge development project to
develop transport facilities in rural areas.
The minister said he had renovated around 20 bridges and Athwelthota
is one of bridges which had been renovated under the bridge development
programme.
Around Rs 5 million had been spent for this bridge which has solved
problems of residents in Athwelthota area.
"All these development projects are public projects. All should
assist to make these projects successful," the minister said.
