While Prince William on duty in chilly North Wales:
Kate Middleton enjoys sunshine in Caribbean
UK: The Duchess of Cambridge has jetted off on a luxury
Caribbean holiday – leaving William behind on helicopter search and
rescue duties. Kate, 30, joined her family, including sister Pippa, for
some January sunshine in the beauty spot of Mustique.
But while she basked in 28C heat yesterday, her husband of nine
months was stuck in chilly Anglesey, North Wales. The couple’s
separation comes two weeks before they are due to be parted for six
weeks when William, 29, takes up his controversial posting to the
Falkland Islands.
However, they have spent plenty of time together over Christmas at
Sandringham as well as partying at New Year.
The Middletons flew first class with British Airways from London
Gatwick to St Lucia on Wednesday. They then went to the tiny island of
Mustique – a favourite holiday destination of the Middletons for years –
which has just 74 villas with activities including diving and tennis.
The trip is believed to be a belated 30th birthday celebration for
Kate, who spent the landmark day on January 9 at a low-key dinner with
family and close friends.
