Rs 2.5m facelift for Alfred Duraiappa stadium

Director of LECS Imran Hassan said that as a part of their social responsibility towards Jaffna they would invest Rs. 2.5 million to assist the development of the Alfred Duraiappa Stadium in Jaffna.

The fair has been the ideal meeting ground for small timers as well as big players of the region to witness firsthand the emerging markets and technologies that could be applied in the peninsula.

It has also paved the way for networking and the strengthening of trade ties between different regions”, he said. The company would install a sprinkler system, install lights and also build a fence around the stadium.

“We have undertaken to completely maintain the Alfred Duraiappa stadium that is considered a major attraction and a hub of activity for the people of Jaffna”, he said.
