Rs 1 m insurance for each Deyata Kirula visitor

Each visitor to the Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition
will be insured for Rs 1 million.
The sixth Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition will be held
in a land that spans 2,600 acres, out of which 400 acres will be used to
set up exhibition stalls in Oyamaduwa,
Anuradhapura from February 4 to 11, Deyata Kirula National Exhibition
Organising Committee Chairman and Telecommunications and Information
Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told the Daily News.
The military will set up displays. Part of the site will also be
developed as an agricultural farm. Around 1,300 acres of the area have
already been developed, he said.
The entire exhibition site will be provided with 24 hour security.
Siyambalapitiya also urged visitors to refain from bringing unnecessary
items to the exhibition ground and park vehicles only at vehicle parks.
Seven vehicle parks have been established.
Many government institutes will function as information centres at
the exhibition. The Security Forces will also have a stall to exhibit
military equipment. The Deyata Kirula Exhibition will be a novel
experience for the visitors to gather knowledge, the minister said.
In line with the exhibition, four sports events will be held from
February 4. They are netball, kabadi, volleyball and bicycle races. The
bicycle race is scheduled to commence from Hambantota and reach the
exhibition site in Oyamaduwa on February 3.
