Ja-Ela woman in racket to find Mullaitivu’s missing

A woman who posed as a Police criminal investigation officer and demanded money from the public on the pretext of finding missing persons in Mullaitivu, was taken into custody by Colombo Crime Division (CCD)officers Tuesday. The woman, a resident of Makewita, Mabima in Ja-Ela had made telephone contact with Grama Niladari officers in Mullaitivu to find guardians of missing persons.

SI training for 40 Tamil police officers

The Police will start basic training for 50 Tamil speaking police officers who got through the interviews to be police Sub-Inspectors at Kalutara Police Training School, from January 25. They are youths from the North and East to be trained as Sub-Inspectors, police constables and woman police constables.
