More funds for GN divisions

The government will allocate Rs 2 million for each Grama Niladari division in the country, for development projects in addition to other allocations through other projects, said acting Economic Development Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.

He made these observations at a press conference at the Information Department yesterday. The Acting Minister said Rs one million will be utilized through Pradeshiya Sabha members and the other one million will be utilized through Provincial Councillors. He added that this amount is allocated in addition to other development projects, such as Divi Neguma, Maga Neguma and Gama Neguma.
