CSD provides exercise books for children

The Civil Security Department (CSD) handed over school exercise books
worth Rs.9 million to the children of Civil Security Department
personnel who were handicapped or who sacrificed their lives during the
humanitarian operations under the patronage of First Lady Shiranthi
Rajapaksa. Exercise books needed for school students for 2012 from grade
one to grade 12 were granted free. The Civil Security Department granted
books for 27,450 students.
Four students who received best results at the grade five scholarship
examination, three students who received best results at the 2010
G.C.E.Ordinary Level examination and two students who received best
results at the 2010 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination and qualified to
enter the University were granted scholarships under Suwa Saviya
The donations were granted by the Sewa Vanitha Unit of the Civil
Security Department on the direction of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa, as a measure of welfare for the war heroes.
Civil Security Department Director General Rear Admiral Ananda Peris
and Department's Sewa Vanitha Unit Chairperson Kumuduni Peris also
participated. |
