Forces now for development

The government will utilize the Security Forces' abilities and capabilities for the country's development, Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

The minister addressing the weekly Cabinet briefing yesterday, said Security Forces personnel are engaging in development activities keenly.

"Unlike certain other countries not a single Security Forces' member had been retired even though the war is over. Therefore, the know-how and abilities of these young personnel are being utilized for the betterment of the country," the minister said.

"They have proved that they could undertake any task and complete it with a high degree of success. They are also keen to utilize their skills in fruitful activity rather than remain idle," Minister Rambukwella said.
