‘Disciplinary action against those criticising party leadership’

Disciplinary action will be taken against UNP office bearers and anyone who continues to criticise the party leadership and the Working Committee decision without considering their position or standing in the party, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said. He said the party Working Committee has elected suitable individuals in a free and fair poll and continuous criticism regarding those appointments will only result in great damage to the party.

Attanayake said no individual could act against the party constitution whether they are office bearers or ordinary members and it is the duty of those who held high office in the past to work towards uniting the party and supporting it in its forward journey.
