The familiar nip in the air, the excitement in the eyes of children
and adults alike, as well as delectable fragrances wafting out of
kitchens can only mean one thing: Christmas!
Celebrating the birth of the Christ, December is synonymous with the
three important values in life: love, family, and faith. This year,
Jetwing Hotels celebrates this unique holiday with a 'ho, ho, ho'
indeed, bringing back by popular demand the 12 Days of Christmas - a one
of a kind take on the traditional song, the 12 days starting from today
(December 21) will be a time of festivity and charity, with great
goodies and a focus on the less fortunate.
Negombo is a veritable North Pole, being the birthplace of Jetwing.
Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions takes a health conscious twist to the
festivities, with an authentic cookie evening as well as a delicious
ayurvedic dinner on today and December 23. Christmas Eve is not to be
missed, ith Jetwing Blue and Jetwing Beach each hosting an epic 7 course
sit down dinner with live music. Jetwing Sea opens up the 12 Days with a
Beach Bonfire, followed by a sumptuous seafood dinner, and a stirring
performance by the Choir of the Blind School on December 22.
Jetwing Vil Uyana has a programme to shame the kitchens of King
Kashyappa: with a lunch on Christmas Day that boasts roast turkey, with
traditional stuffing and gravy, and a classic 8 course set dinner at the
Apsara restaurant. Jetwing St. Andrew's, Nuwara Eliya, begins the 12
Days with the decoration of the Christmas Tree with the help of the
Paynter's Home children and celebrates Christmas and the New Year with a
gala dinner buffet and fireworks.
Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle will host a Family Christmas Party, where
guests are encouraged to donate gifts for children of a local orphanage
and herald the dawn of 2012 in style, with a 7 course candlelit dinner
at the Cinnamon Room and a very special New Year Lunch Buffet created by
Executive Chef Nihal Senanayake. Tangalla Bay by Jetwing does things
differently this year: with a barbecue dinner on the terrace with a
sundown party at poolside for Christmas Day and a grand New Year's Eve
Bash with fireworks, DJ and buffet dinner.
"Christmas has always been a time for family and friends and an
opportunity for charity. We had an amazing response for last year's 12
Days of Christmas, with guests ecstatic about the prospect of helping
the less fortunate while enjoying the season. This year, the 12 Days of
Christmas is back and grander than ever before," Jetwing Hotels
Marketing Communications Manager Angie Samuel said. |
