Two injured in collision

Two persons travelling in a jeep were critically injured when the
vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a two storeyed building at
Dickwella-Mahawela road.
The injured were admitted to Dickwella base hospital and transferred
to Matara hospital.
Programme to catch stray cattle

A programme has been launched by the local authorities in Dambulla to
catch stray cattle.
Cattle roaming around the locality have been plaguing the people and
their properties in the area.
House for the needy

Digamadulla District Parliamentarian P S Piyasena handed over a House
constructed by the National Youth Services Council under its "One house
for one DS Division" Housing Project Scheme at Panankadu in the
Alayadivembu DS Division.
Islamic lecture series
The monthly Islamic lecture series In The Shade of The Holy Qur’an’
will be held at the YMMA conference main auditorium No 63, Sri
Vajiragnana Road, Dematagoda, Colombo 9 tomorrow at 10 am.
It is organised by Conference of Sri Lankan Malays.
The guest speaker Moulavi Mohamed Farood will deliver a lecture on
‘The Significance of Muharram’.
Annual fair
The annual fair in aid of the centre for Communication Deficiencies
will be held on Sunday from 9 am - 6 pm at 198/11A, Sirimal Uyana,
Nawala by the Speech Therapy Rehabilitation Centre.
Imported garments, CDs and DVDs, toys, books, food items, fruits,
vegetables and home appliances will be available for sale.
Josephian Carols
The Carol service of St Joseph’s College, Colombo will be held
tomorrow at 6.15 pm at the school’s Stanley Abeysekera Auditorium. It
will be preceded by the Christmas overture by the College Brass Band.
It will be held under the patronage of Ratnapura Bishop Most Rev Dr
Cletus Chandrasiri Perera.
This event will be followed by a fellowship with Christmas songs and
food stalls.
Praise and worship service
A service of ‘Praise and Worship’ will be held on December 11 at
10.30 am at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Bauddhaloka
Mawatha, Colombo 7. The speaker and minister at this service will be Dr
Vijaya Corea.
Thanks-giving service
A thanks – giving special service will be held at Daham Mawatha,
Balagala Road, Hendala, Wattala tomorrow at 2.00 pm. This will be
conducted by Bro H T Anura.
Ruwa Sarasana Guna
Primary school students of Musaeus College, Colombo will stage an
opera themed Ruwa Sarasana Guna at the school’s Peter de Abrew Memorial
Auditorium on December 11 at 6 pm.
Christmas Carols
Christmas Carols 2011, organised by the Christian Society of Colombo
South International College will be held today at the college.
A sermon will be delivered by Rev Roshan Mendis. The programme
lasting over two hours will be orchestrated by the staff with Dilki
Imaduwavitanage as chief organiser.

A special lecture on the life and theology of Islamic theologist and
intellectual Imam Ibun Thaimya will be webcast live on web

The lecturer is Mishkath Institute for Islamic Research President of
