Met Dept predicts more rain

The Meteorology Department yesterday requested Naval personnel and fishermen to pay more attention to weather forecasts, during the next few days. "A low level disturbance has formed in the South-West Bay of Bengal. Under the influence of this, the wet weather condition will be enhanced within the next few days," the Department said.

Occasional showers and thundershowers will be experienced in the Northern, Eastern, North-Central, Uva and Southern Provinces. Showers and thundershowers will develop over the rest of the island, especially during the afternoon or evening and there will be heavy rainfall and strong winds at times at some places, it said.
