'Western media outlets lie about Syria'

TURKEY: A senior Turkish lawmaker says Western media outlets are not reflecting the reality in Syria and the West is playing a game in the Arab country, Press TV reports.

MP Birgul Ayman Guler, the deputy chairperson of Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), who visited Syria about one month ago as part of a Turkish delegation comprised of 38 women, said on Tuesday that the reality in Syria is different from what Western media outlets are reporting. In an exclusive interview with Press TV's Ankara correspondent, Guler stated, "What we understood during the visit was that the Western media were lying about the situation in Syria."

"We were told [by the Western media] that there was bloodshed underway by the administration of [Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad, but we did not see any violence in Syria," she added. AFP
