Lankan team will turn a new chapter - skipper Ruwanthilake

Sri Lanka football team captain Rohana Ruwanthilaka said that his team will turn a new chapter at the South Asian Football Federation Cup (SAFF Cup) which starts in New Delhi tomorrow.

Sri Lanka will play their first match against Bhutan at the Sri Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. Sri Lanka is looking for a good start by winning tomorrow’s game according to the Lankan skipper. Sri Lanka will compete against Bhutan, Afghanistan (on December 5) and the hosts India (December 7) in Group ‘A’.

“Our team is a well balanced one. We had a lot of experience during our tour in Dubai where we played against some exceptional teams. We will use those experiences when we play at the SAFF tournament” said Ruwanthilaka. Ruwanthilake is a talented soccerite who played for Red Sun, Gampola and now plays for the Saunders team, giving his best at the Premier League while working as an executive officer at Traveler Global Private Limited, Colombo.
