Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa met a business delegation from the United Arab
Emirates at the Economic Development Ministry on Wednesday.
The delegation included UAE’s Minister of Foreign Trade
Sheikha Lubna Binturong Khalid Al Quassimi, Ambassador of
the United Arab Emirates Mahmood Mohammed Al Mahmood,
chairman of Al Ghurair Investment Essa Abdulla Al Ghurair,
Al Serkal Group General Manager Eissa Al Serkal, chairman of
Al Otaiba Enterprises Otaiba Al Otaibah, Vice President,
Sarjah Chamber of Commerce Saeed A Al Jarwan, Assistant
Under Secretary for Foreign Trade Affairs Ministry of
Foreign Trade Jumma Al Kait. Commerce and Industries
Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and Ambassador of Sri Lanka to

The foundation stone was
laid for a new housing scheme for low-income families in the
Gampola area under the patronage of Prime Minister D.M.
Jayaratne on November 20. Two houses worth Rs one million
will be built initially under the Jana Sevana programme. The
construction activities will commence in Uda Palatha,
Millagahamula, Ambakumbura and Doluwa areas. The Venerable
Maha Sangha led by Atabage Gnanarama Thera, the Chief
Incumbent of Wiwekaramaya, Millagahamula, Provincial Council
Minister Nissanka Herath and Chairman Udapalatha Pradeshiya
Sabha participated on this occasion. |
