Tiled roofs for A'pura homes

The Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister will provide tiled roofs for every household with makeshift roofs in Anuradhapura district to mark the Deyata Kirula national programme, a ministry spokesperson said.

The ministry has targeted to complete this by February next year, he said.

The ministry has identified around 5,000 houses with temporary roofs in the Anuradhapura district.

The main constructions are being completed for the Deyata Kirula national programme and the Deyata Kirula exhibition.

To mark the occasion, the ministry has drawn up a plan to provide 100 computer laboratories for 100 schools which do not have computer facilities in the Anuradhapura district, at a cost of Rs 350 million, he said.
