New sports website launched

A new sports website, www.amasportslk.com, maintained by AMA Sportslk, was officially launched on Sunday at Mario Hotel, Marawila. The main aim of the site is to provide professional marketing opportunities to all national level sportsmen in Sri Lanka.

The website will work as a mediator to make available international exposure to sportsmen and trainers according to their capabilities. Opening the doors to local and international playing opportunities for sports organizations is another aspect of the website while sharing their knowledge among the various sporting bodies. There would be opportunities for trainers to use sports related academic background sources including modules, examination facilities and seminars. Another area that will be facilitated is the support given to talented and economically underprivileged sports personnel.

Furthermore there will be annual recognition programmes for those who achieve national level standards. Profiles of national level sports personnel will be available on the site including their career details and biodata.AMA sports founder Alex Nishantha, Director of Coaching Charles

Thilakaratne, Director of foundation Panneer Selwam and former and present national level sports personnel were present at the official launch of the website.
