SLC election on December 27

Sri Lanka Cricket election will be held on December 27. According to the Sports Ministry Media Secretary Harsha B Abeykoon, nominations will be accepted within a period of two weeks from November 25.

According to Article 40A of the Sports Act Sports Director General will call for nominations and will hold the election within 30 days on December 27.

Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage dissolved the Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket on November 15 and the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, Udaya Ranjith Seneviratne was appointed as the competent authority to temporarily overlook matters with regard to Sri Lanka Cricket.

Interim Committees appointed by the government have run cricket in Sri Lanka for the last seven years.
