AVIVA NDB only insurer among Top Ten best corporate citizens

AVIVA NDB was among the top ten winners at Best Corporate Citizen Award 2011 at the recent gala awards presentation organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce for the eighth consecutive year.

AVIVA NDB was the only insurer to secure a place among the line up of Sri Lanka’s ten best corporate entities. Last year, AVIVA NDB was the winner in the ‘under Rs 15 billion turnover’ category and in 2011 the company competed with entities recording an annual turnover of more than Rs 15 billion.

The Best Corporate Citizen Award is the highest and only corporate honour in the country that evaluates all aspects of a business and the winners are selected for performance under five stakeholder groups - Environment, Employee Relations, Customer and Supplier Relations, Community Relations and CSR and Governance and Economic Contribution.

Marketing and Customer Management General Manager Amal Perera said “We take great pride in the fact that our corporate responsibility endeavours are relevant to the needs of the nation and are closely integrated with our corporate culture.”

Managing Director Shah Rouf said, “This achievement reflects the world class standards we maintain across all our operations for the benefit of all our stakeholders. Our CR endeavours play a pivotal role in strengthening our business purpose of bringing prosperity and peace of mind. Winning this award once again is a great honour for the entire company.”
