Silk Route opens

SriLankan Airlines yesterday marked another era in the aviation
industry by launching the Silk Route Departure Lounge at the BIA to
provide end to end, total care service for commercially important
travellers.
The launching of the Silk Route was another strategic partnership
with Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited and Sri Lanka
Telecom Mobitel.
"The lounge will provide a hassle free check-in process and
travellers will have the opportunity to relax in comfort while enjoying
the convenience of an expedited check-in, immigration and Customs
process.
The route will further enhance the standards and appeal of BIA. With
the influx of tourist arrivals to the country, it is imperative to have
state-of-the-art communication facilities and high service are in place
to resonate the nation growth potential to prospective stakeholders,"
Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited Chairman Prasanna
Wickramasuriya commented at the Silk Route Departure Lounge launching
ceremony.
Sri Lanka Telecom-Mobitel managed to further strengthen its
partnership with the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited
becoming the official telecommunication partner for the Silk Route
Departure Lounge at BIA.
The lounge is equipped with the state-of-the-art communication
services including free Wi-Fi access. The company also expresses its
willingness to tie up with likeminded synergies to further achieve much
awaited national goals in the country.
