Sri Lankan art beat 2011
Artway Gallery, which began in 2009 as the venue for showcasing the
combined talents of 24 of Sri Lanka's leading artists has made great
strides in promoting Sri Lankan art on the world stage. Through numerous
exhibitions locally and abroad, as well as a permanent collection of
their works, Artway has begun attracting the attention of art lovers
from all over the world.
Artway Gallery recently hosted 'Sri Lankan Art Beat 2011', an
exhibition featuring the original 24 founding artists of the
institution.
The group of artists representing Artway Gallery has exhibited at the
China Benal 2010 and Bangladesh Benal 2011, receiving rave reviews for
their work. These artists have also been showcased individually at art
exhibitions in UK, China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Bhutan.
Artway Gallery is housed in a splendid 'Walauwa' (manor) style home,
located at 66, Old Kesbewa Road, Nugegoda.
