President wins international respect for SL - Minister Seneviratne

President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a leader of stature and diplomatic skills. He has rendered a great service by ending the war and winning international respect to Sri Lanka. The President's leadership is ideal for Sri Lanka and will help the country achieve its development goals, said Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J Seneviratne.

The minister in a congratulatory message on President Mahinda Rajapaksa's second anniversary of assuming office as Sri Lanka's fifth executive, said that instead of the sound of gunfire and bombs in all parts of the country, we now hear the sound of machinery and equipment for building bridges, express ways, ports, harbours and airports.

"Development has spread to each and every field in the country under the leadership of President Rajapaksa. The Mahinda Chinthana Future Vision has been a great support for the vast development programme which is being implemented in the country. There is no doubt President Mahinda Rajapaksa is one of the greatest leaders in Sri Lanka's history," he said.

"there is a massive change in the public service. Asia's largest administration complex was built in Hambantota. This complex has facilities to provide services which are provided by 46 departments," he added.

"All measures are to be taken by the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry to provide an efficient public service as the President's wishes, and as the Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister I'll take all measures to establish a more helpful public service in the country," the minister said.
