Fixed Income Funds to attract foreign investment

The removal of restrictions on foreign investment into fixed income Unit Trusts, has opened a new avenue for overseas investment into Sri Lanka due to the prevailing global economic environment, Ceylon Asset Management Managing Director Dulindra Fernando told Daily News Business.

Brisk sales for Nano, hybrid cars

There is a growing demand for both hybrid and Nano cars in the local market. More than 3500 hybrid cars and 1000 Nano cars have been sold in Sri Lanka this year. According to the Motor vehicle registration statistics, 3855 hybrid cars have been registered from March this year.

ODEL to open three more

ODEL is to open three stores by the end of the year in Kandy and Dutch Hospital Colombo 1, and will also refurbish their main store at Alexandra Place. ODEL founder and CEO Otara Gunewardene said with the economy growing ‘business was good’ and tourist arrivals are also picking up bringing them more customers.
