Thalassaemia centre opening

The Western Province Thalassaemia Centre will be opened by Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena at Sirimavo Bandaranaike Mawatha, Mahara, Kadawatha today, a Health Ministry Spokesman said.

The building was donated by a resident of Mahara, Hemalatha Ariyaratne to house the Thalassaemia Centre. The value of the property is Rs 450 million and the ministry has spent Rs 25 million to establish the centre, he said.
