Two arrested with contraband cigarettes
Two men who had imported and sold cigarettes
without paying Customs duty were arrested in Gonapala area with a
stock of 3000 cigarettes by Corruption Suppression Unit, Panadura on
Wednesday. The raid was carried out on information received by
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Horana, Saman Rathnayaka.

Smuggling racket busted
Peliyagoda police Wednesday busted an organized
racket involving smuggled goods removed from sealed containers
transported to the Orugodawatta storage from the Colombo harbour.
Police seized 25,000 vegetable oil cans hidden in Kelaniya area
after being smuggled from containers.
