Learning everything at the institute |
Due to the request by some of the parents in Adelaide, Mrs.
Premachandra, who first started teaching dancing voluntarily to the
Dhamma School children at Adelaide Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara, began
classes in November 2008 and later on was officially opened as the
Sihala Kala Rangayathanaya with two other teachers.
This is the first Sri Lankan dance academy based in Adelaide,
Australia. We are dedicated to promote Kandyan dance, Low country,
Barathanatyam and contemporary dance styles.
Over the past two years, the academy has established a reputation for
excellence in dancing education.
Due to the recognition that has been achieved over its life, Sihala
Kala Rangayathanaya students have been invited to participate at various
festivals and musical shows in Adelaide.
In addition to dancing classes Sihala Kala Rangayathanaya has been
conducted lessons in playing the guitar, keyboard and acting in stage
drama under one roof.
This institute currently conducts classes in Norwood Morialta High
School, Middle campus Gym Hall in Rostrevor. The teachers are Mrs.
Krishanthi Premachandra, Mrs. Niluka Hattotuwa, Hasith Lakshitha, Mrs.
