Exhibition of photographs

An exhibition of photographs organised by the Negombo Photographer’s Association to mark its 10th anniversary will be held at the YMCA hall, Kurana, Katunayake on November 11 and 12.

Provincial Minister Nimal Lanza will declare open the exhibition on November 11 at 9.30am and distribute prizes and awards among winners of the photographic competition as the chief guest.

Prof Patrick Ratnayake of the Kelaniya University will preside.

Annual session

The annual session of Jaffna Medical Association was inaugurated at Jaffna university, Kailasapathy auditorium on November 4 at 4.30 pm. The chief guest was Prof Rizvy Sherrif and the guest of honour was Dr K V R A Banagala. The President of the association Dr S Raviraj presided.

The session one of the association will be held at Public Library auditorium on November 5 at 8 am. The session two will also be held at the Public Library auditorium at 2 pm. The session three and four will be held at the Public Library auditorium on November 6 at 8.30 am and 1 pm respectively.

Ex-Upalians 7th annual get-together

Former employees of the Upali Group, Ex-Upalians, will be meeting for the seventh Ex-Upalians Get-together on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Lions Activity Centre, Rajagiriya at 10 am. Those who wish to join this Fellowship should contact A Ratnapala on 077-3047984.

Public talk

U Mapa will deliver a public talk in English on ‘Dhatuvibhanga Sutta (the exposition of the elements - Majjima Nikaya) at the meeting of the Servants of the Buddha Society on November 12, Saturday at 4.30pm at Maithree Hall, Lauries Road, Bambalapitiya.

Get-together

Prize giving

The annual prize giving ceremony of Sri Dharmaloka Vidyalaya, Kelaniya will be held at the Main Auditorium of the school on November 9, 2011 at 7.30 am. The chief guest of the event will be the Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena and Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Dr Mervin Silva.

AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Sight First Hospital will be held on November 13, 2011 at the auditorium of the Sight First Hospital, Hendala followed by fellowship and lunch.
