Councillors should fulfil people’s aspirations - Minister Gunawardena

Members elected to local councils should endeavour to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people, said Water Supply and Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardena addressing MEP members elected to local councils on the UPFA ticket at a workshop held at the National Library Services and Documentation Board auditorium recently.

The minister said the people ensured a UPFA victory at almost all local councils placing confidence on the Presidnet and his party.

All elected members should work hard to honour people’s confidence while protecting the UPFA. He said all members should act in an exemplary manner and strive hard to take the fruits of development to grass roots level and enhance productivity in all spheres.
