Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa handed over shade houses to Divi Naguma
householders under the Divi Naguma Domestic Economic Unit
Development Programme at Divulapitiya on November 03, 2011.
This programme was organized by the Liya Abhimana
Organization under the patronage of Liya Abhimana
Chairperson and Attorney-at-Law Mrs Pushpa Rajapaksa in
order to encourage Gampaha District flower growers. Disaster
Management Deputy Minister Dulip Wijesekara, Western
Provincial Council Member Chandana Jayakody, Western
Provincial Council Member Mrs. Chandrika Sakalasooriya and
high officials from the Ministry of Economic Development

Naval troops attached to SLNS Gajaba
of the North Central Naval Area seized 7,960 kilos of
cannabis with one suspect at Pallimunai area in Mannar on
November 2. The suspect had been trying to transport the
cannabis from Kondampiddi to the South Bank area when he was
intercepted by the Navy. The suspect and the cannabis were
handed over to the Mannar Police for further investigations. |
