Hicorp case put off for Nov 29

The Hicorp case against Sarath Fonseka and his son-in-law Danuna
Tillakaratne was put off for November 29, by Colombo High Court judge
Sunil Rajapaksa yesterday.
Court Mudliyar Mohamed Nafly producing several court records gave
evidence when examined by senior defence counsel in connection with the
court martial order.
Earlier, Hicorp (Pvt) Limited director Wellington Dehoedt, who
pleaded guilty to charges preferred against him in an arms deal case,
was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by Colombo High Court judge Sunil
Rajapaksa.
Dehoedt is the first accused in the case. The second accused is
Danuna Tillekeratne, son-in-law of Sarath Fonseka. The third accused is
Sarath Fonseka.
The Hicorp director earlier pleaded guilty to 12 charges preferred
against him out of 21 charges.
The CID investigating the case, earlier made Fonseka the third
suspect in the case. Senior State Counsel Damith Totatawatte appeared
with the CID for the prosecution.
Senior Defence Counsel Saliya Peiris with Nilanthi Peiris appeared
for the defence. The case will be called again on November 29, 2011. |
