Thondaman's portrait in Parliament
A portrait of Senior Politician late S Thondaman will be unveiled in
Parliament shortly.
The proposal submitted in this regard by UNP parliamentarian R
Yogarajan was supported by UPFA MP parliamentarian A H M Azwer. The
House Committee has agreed to this proposal.
The Ceylon Workers' Congress had been asked to do the portrait in
India. Late MP Thondaman was a member of the first Parliament in 1947.
He was a Cabinet minister and was a plantation leader of Indian
descent.
