NDB Bank, in partnership with the Moratuwa University and the Young
Entrepreneurs Sri Lanka (YESL) sponsored entrepreneurship training for
university students for the first time in Sri Lankan higher education
system.
The Young Entrepreneurs Business Programme provides the students
training on practical business, economics and entrepreneurship concepts,
giving them an opportunity to set up and operate their own business
ventures. The first phase of the programme was successful in producing
eight companies, formed by close to 300 students who officially launched
their businesses and introduced their products, services and business
ideas at a ceremony held recently.
NDB Bank CEO Russell de Mel said, "Our sponsorship of these students
ties in with NDB Bank's strategic CSR, where we focus on education and
entrepreneurship both of which play a key role in NDB Bank's business
strategy."
