Eleven Dompe suspects to be produced

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducting investigations into the attack on the Dompe Police Station recently, will produce 11 suspects before Gampaha Magistrate and Additional District Judge Macky Mohamed for an identification parade on November 1, 2011.

Earlier, the CID took into custody 25 suspects who were alleged to have been involved in the attack on the Dompe Police Station. Ten other suspects were produced before the Judge earlier for an identification parade, CID officials said.

According to the investigations, the CID DIG said that the suspects taken into custody had damaged the police station and attempted set fire to it.

The incident occurred after the death of a person who was taken into custody by Dompe Police officers.

Earlier, the suspects had been remanded pending the completion of the identification parade, CID said.
