O-L students can obtain IDs until Nov 30

The Department of Registration of Persons said yesterday that students sitting the GCE Ordinary Level examination in December can obtain their National Identity Cards until November 30.

Candidates have to apply before November 30 to obtain identity cards, through school principals.

The Department of Registration of Persons has informed principals to send applications to the department on time to avoid the rush.

The Department of Registration of Persons will issue identity cards within two weeks for school candidates.

The department is engaged in issuing around 100,000 identity cards of school candidates sitting the Ordinary Level examination.

The department requested principals and school applicants to draw special attention on filling their applications duly, since it has been noticed that incomplete applications cause many issues.

The Ordinary Level examination will commence on December 12.
