‘Superpowers after wealth of nations’
Iran: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addresses people in the
eastern city of Nehbandan, South Khorasan Province, Tuesday
Iran’s president blames superpowers for attempting to rob nations of
their wealth and says no power can obstruct the path of a united people
to progress.
“The world’s tyrants, by relying on evil powers and desires, seek to
massacre and dominate nations, and also so plunder their possessions,”
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed large crowds of people in the city of
Nehbandan in South Khorasan Province on Tuesday, IRNA reported.
“The enemies cannot hinder the progress of nations,” he stated.
Ahmadinejad said world powers engage in wars, produce weapons and
plunder the wealth of nations in their futile attempt to find calm and
security. Ahmadinejad dismissed US-led efforts to undermine the
sovereignty of Iran through hurling accusations at the Iranian nation.
On October 11, the US Justice Department accused Iran of plotting to
assassinate Saudi Arabian Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir, with help from a
man suspected of being a member of a Mexican drug cartel.
Tehran refuted the allegation, arguing the media hype created by
Washington was an attempt to deflect international attention from the
anti-corruption and anti-corporatism protests in the US.
“Accusing the Iranian nation will not help them achieve their goals,”
Ahmadinejad said, stressing that such moves could not stop Iran from
making progress in various fields.
He said the US and its allies sow discord and provoke terrorism
wherever they go. “You (Americans) are guilty and must stand trial.
Don’t think that you can influence the court against the Iranian
nation,” the Iranian official warned.
